Franz Marc (1880 – 1916) German Expressionists who expressed in his paintings strong emotions. Franz Marc painted mostly animals and nature, he is well known with his vibrant colours in his paintings. The colours in his paintings where expressing a lot of grace and deep emotions. He believed in the spiritual nature of art and combined a tranquil subject at odds with hyper intensive style. Sadly his career was cruelly cut short at the age of 36, in the front line of world war I, while waiting for his reassignment military letters. But his passion and artistic style still live through his artworks.

Product Description

Stables was the last painting or the last major job of Franz Marc based on the theme he liked the most; animals and nature. This painting was completed in 1913. during the course of that year Franz Marc decrease the use of his old way of painting, and increased his interest of painting abstract pictorial modes to express different existing aspects of nature and animals. This expression can be seen in the Stable paintings as the horses and stable are almost indistinguishable.

In this painting the horses been arranged by Franz Marc in groups of five horses in each colour: red, blue and white. The horses can be seen within a framework of diagonals crossing and parallels lines.
